Sarah Wildes Arnett is a choreographer, performer, and educator in South Georgia. She is currently Interim Department Head of Communication Arts and Professor of Dance at Valdosta State University and a freelance choreographer for musical theatre, entertainment, and contemporary companies. Her passions outside of dance involve crossfit, photography, and very large dogs!
She received a Master of Fine Arts in Dance Choreography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Vanderbilt University (TN). She is a member of the board of directors for the American College Dance Association. She is a certified Aerial Teacher through Born To Fly Curriculum and wrote the aerial dance arts curriculum at VSU adding this new area to the Dance Major. http://www.borntoflyaerial.com/
Sarah’s interests are interdisciplinary as she enjoys integrating her talents in film-making, photography, music composition, and physical fitness into her choreography while also expanding boundaries of genre and style. She continues to perform professionally with various companies and artists in the region, including her company SWADanceCo. She has performed in and presented work in NYC and was a company member of Terranova Dance Theatre. Sarah has spent many summers with Peach State Summer Theatre as a performer, dance captain, and choreographer for the main stage since 2014. Recent choreography credits include Spamalot, Annie, Mamma Mia!, Hello, Dolly!, Ring of Fire, and Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella (regional) and The Addams Family, Bright Star, Guys and Dolls, Cats, and 9 to 5 (VSU).
